Re: Ultimate gaming mouse?

I'm a bit of a sucker for Corsair products (Factory in Dundee Nem)

Nice wired solution with weight distribution and Sniper button/DPi adjustment

Re: Ultimate gaming mouse?

LOL aa)

So true Nem, but gaming wouldn't be the same without my keys popping out randomly! It adds to the tension hehe. I did also spot this though:

Image

not a bad price point either:

http://www.ebuyer.com/176329-cyborg-v7- ... v7keyboard

It gonna be that one or this:

Image
Details below:
http://www.ebuyer.com/148294-microsoft- ... -agb-00006

p.s My keyboard that is completely knackered is a Logitech G11. There gear is all glitz and terrible build quality. I have worn off all the grey/silver background surrounding the arrow keys, and also replaced 3 off them with other random keys from the board as the contacts shattered!! Rubbish! My G7 mouse, although still working perfectly looks tatty and tired, with the coating chipping and bubbling.

Re: Ultimate gaming mouse?

just pluggd in the sidewinder and it seems ok its the E key u need to make sure u hit it properly

edit
ok after gaming for a few mins the keys bugged the hell out of me the W and E key only register when completly depressed and all the others reg slight movements id prob advise against it even though its a nice keybored it only lasted about a year

Re: Ultimate gaming mouse?

Thanks Nem, I'll avoid the Sidewinder then.

Cyborg still in pole position, but this looks interesting in that price point. It has a built in fan (Like I need that when it's -10degrees outside  ), but other than that gimmick, seems quite solid.

But the real challenger to the cyborg, and left me puzzling on which to choose is this from Gigabyte:

Sharkoon Fireglider Laser Mouse - Black

Felt I should post this up for peeps looking for real value in their gaming mouse! German build quality, and over sized for comfort. Customisable weights and DPi settings. 7 buttons (6 of them freely programmable). On-board memory for macros etc etc.

All this for £22.19 8O

Re: Ultimate gaming mouse?

I've heard a lot of good things about the RAT 5 and 7 and a lot of bad things. The mouse doesn't seem to be too good for FPS gaming but plays well for strategy games and the like. However, I've never used one for a longer period of time, though initial impressions wern't decent. At the end of the day it boils down to opinion and personal preferance, but if you're considering getting a new mouse I have a few to suggest;

Steelseries Ikari and Sensi
Roccat Kone and Kone+
Logitech G9x

I don't trust razer with mice after two deathadders breaking on me

Also keyboards! Again, at the end of the day, it's all down to preferance. However personally I look for what type of keys a keyboard uses over flashy lights and a gaming profile. For example mechanical keys I find give much more feedback and generaly feel better to me than domed keys. I.e. raised clacky keys vs low profile laptop type keys. I splashed out on a Steelseries 7G which has almost no media buttons or anything. Pretty standard layout besides the single key backspace and the left windows key being replaced by a "steelseries" key. This just allows you to use F1 through F6 in conjunction with the steelsieries key as media keys. So chuffed with it though and would reccomend it to anyone. When buying it it was between that and logitech's G19. Which looks like a beast!
A lot of these products are fairly pricey for what they are, although I think it is worth it. A more expensive mouse will last a lot longer and, in my opinion, feels nicer to use over a lesser mouse. For example I had two Razer Deathadders fail on me within a year or so. Since then I've had one Roccat Kone and although the rubber coating is wearing away, it works fine after two years use or so.
Also this looks fantastic!

Re: Ultimate gaming mouse?

I have the Logitech G11 keyboard and G7 mouse. Both put me off Logitech products. VERY poor build quality! Nice products, but not durable enough for hard gaming sessions. I want things to last longer than they did. The Sharkoon is now top of the list as far as bangs for bucks, but still interested in the Crucial mouse. I like quality products, but don't get lured into flash for cash but with no substance to justify the extra £s. The Sharkoon (Fireglider Laser Mouse - Black) is German quality build with all the features i'll ever use. Goes top of the list! Now to look at the Keyboards properly again, as that comes first. :)

P.s Review like this one on the Corsair products, really does highlight the quality of the components used: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/reviews/1 ... usion.html

Still in the top 2 of my list for now.
