This is what really happens when a IED goes off in real life.Real flesh real bones, real legs get torn off.

Puts some things into perspective for some people when we play computer games maybe.

The placement of the pressure plate was in a natural choke point.It was the most logical place to exit the area to get out.
Thats why guys blow mouseholes in compound walls etc to not go the route that is natural due to IED placement.Climb over high walls than walk around the compounds more tread places.

Its graphic and not for the faint of heart, but its actually the combo of having sound etc and a good visual perspective of it that makes it hit proper.

Being the Afghan national army guy, I dont think he will be getting the kind of assistance that NATO guys would get from their country.

This is the stuff that the Brit lads are fighting against in their areas as well.Takes next to nothing to build one, even one that can take out larger armoured vehicles.

jikes. Watching the video gives clues about the environment though. I wonder how come the Afghan guy went through that gap first? Why exit an area like that via the obvious route?

maybe he is not so trained like the american soldiers. maybe he was an normal farmer, they gave him a machinegun and now he should be an intelligent soldier.

While technically tactically the moniker of "stay unpredictable" or go " the route less travelled" one also has to take into account that some of these guys are carrying their own body weight in armour plates, soft armour, helmets, ammunition, water, radios, medical supplies, MG ammo, extra MG barrel, depending on who they are they may have mortar pltes, mortar tubes, and mortars. Possibly also their cold gear, sleeping stuff etc etc depending on the operation they are on. If you have to jump that weight over 10 walls you would be absolutely smocked in no time, no matter how fit you are, and you might be on a 48 hour mission.
This is also one of the reasons soldiers nowadays are having a higher occurence of muscle/skeletal issues with backs,necks, knees, arms etc.
