Ok , heres the problem .

I have a pc with a hard drive (win xp pro) which has all my programs , files , passwords etc on it.

I have a seperate pc with a newly installed OS (win xp pro) .

Is it possible to ghost or image the first hard drive and transfer it to the second keeping all the data intact?

If so what's the best software to use?

You could use clonezilla to make an exact copy of your XP drive with everything on. Just both drives in the same computer, format the new drive, and then use clonezilla to make an exact copy.

The only issue is that when you move to the new computer you might have loads of drivers issues and you'll have to play with the Microsoft licensing to get it all legit. TBH I'd start from scratch and install everything. you'd end up with less issues. You wouldn't need to download all your Steam stuff again, you'd just need copy all the files to your new computer.

yeah you can try it with every image tool .. acronis true image.

but its not recommended to start a win xp on a different hardware ... there are a lot of problems! it should be easier to check your passwords, cookies, programmens etc. and install it manuell at the new pc.
