way to go Muddy . Startup tips:
* BFBC2 'Rush' mode maps = CSS defuse
* Don't do a mad rush when you spawn (except at map start) - it doesn't pay off like CSS. As a newb you won't know the map and will die a lot. Hide a lot.
* Experience in BFBC2 earns additional weapons, scopes, armour, speed. First two weeks is brutal for noobs, after that is ok. Actually the way it works out it even as a noob in BFBC2 you can live a lot longer than in CSS, simply by proceeding very cautiously.
* Don't bother completing single player game - maybe take a peek. I wasted a week when I could have gained experience points in multiplayer.
* Start with 'hardcore' servers from the get-go and you'll get used to them (no ammo count, no spotting, no health bar, and servers more likely to restrict snipers)
* OFc names are in the BF forum - add loads - OFc members will push into opposing camp and even a team of two means you can do the "spawning on you, 5 seconds" voicecomms instead of spawning back at base every frickin time. Many pub squads spend much of their time at base, and aren't much help to you. Worse, they spawn in base rather than on you when you're right up in the enemy camp...
* make sure you religiously exploit the skill of whatever class you are (assault = drop ammo, engineer = repair vehicles, medic = drop health packs and also revive people). This will get you points even though you're otherwise getting slaughtered. There's no cost associated with dropping ammo etc, e.g. so just crap ammo everywhere.

I have to disagree with you here Bamz. It's very confusing starting to play BFBC2 with so much happening at once.bambam wrote:way to go Muddy . Startup tips:

I think Softcore is better for getting a feel for the game and finding out what the fuck is happening. Plus friendly fire is off on softcore servers which will avoid Muddy having a score of -2000 on his first game.

I grabbed a copy in the first round of price slashes. Not got round to trying it yet though.

lol. oh yeah. Russian player models look a lot like USA player models. Forgot to mention that. You have to watch out for the litte triangles above their heads which helpfully show through walls.having a score of -2000
PS Slarti I saw the L4D2 steam txt late after I left BFBC2 on our server wit ion, schlack, joker, gav, nem, tripe and a few walkons. Luckily tripe sucks at BFBC2, or his hacks dont work, or he was whackin off. Team tictacs was ignore all the advice Gav was dishing out. Me, nem and ion kicked ass.
