rite most of the time my pc turns on fine
but recently if i hav to restart my pc it shuts down but then wont fire up again
but i hear a click an bur nosie so i asume power getting to it but its not full initilizing
i hav a fancy surgprotecture that only sends power to the monitures and suck when the pc draws power and well they come on

and no mater how meany times i try to turn it on it wont work
iv opened the case and looked for any losse wires none that i can see
yet when i put case back on and try to power up it works fine has done this about hald a dozen times now

so is my power suply fucked or could it be the mobo not drawing power????

It sounds like a motherboard issue, but possibly the power supply. Does your mobo support intrusion detection? Just seems strange that you close the case and it works again.

Either that or a short. Try unplugging all your case fans and any other non-essential parts. Perhaps with your fumbling inside, a loose connection is making contact again.

Could be short protection. My daughters PC used to do that after lightning. I reckoned the power supply was shutting itself down to protect itself. What you need to do is wait 5 minutes. Next time it does it - just wait 5-10 minutes then try again.

What the actual problem is however another question. Something tripping it out.
