Many have complained about "LAG" since the update. So far I have spoke to 6 people and cured it by simply changing things in the options. It isn't LAG as such, but changes in graphical and processor settings. Here is a quick tweak guide to get the new CSS (since the update) to your liking.

First go into options when you are in game. Then go to the Video TAB. Then select/tick "multicore support". Disable the Killcamera/Freeze cam by ticking a box in the Multiplayer/advanced TAB too.

try these settings in the console:-
cl_cmdrate "66"
cl_interp "0.033"
cl_interp_ratio "1"
cl_updaterate "66"

To disable all the new achievements etc, do this:-

▪ Cinematic death camera shots (or deathcams, killcams): you can. Client-side, go to Options > Multiplayer > Advanced and uncheck it. Server-side, you can use the command sv_disablefreezecam 1.
▪ Dominations & revenges: using the command sv_nonemesis 1 server-side.
▪ MVP panel & stars: using the command sv_nomvp 1 server-side.
▪ Stats with Steam: using the command sv_nostats 1 server-side. This also disables the ability to earn achievements.
▪ Achievements: using the client side command cl_show_achievement_popups 0 stops the achievements from being displayed when they are earned.

When you press Y (default) to chat. There is a filters button on the top right corner of the chat box. Click on it, then a window will appear with multiple filter options. Uncheck the option "Achievement announce".

Hope this helps. Feel free to add to this below.

**edited changed --> cl_show_achievement_popup 0 To cl_show_achievement_popups 0

These are the settings I've been using Gav and they seem to work the best. As regards the Multicore Support , I've been told that this is for multicore GPU not CPU and that enabling it for single core GPU's causes some stuttering , I'm not sure if its true or not though?

Multicore support is For CPU/Processor not GPU/graphics card. Always enable if you have a dual core or quad core processor (That will be almost all of us).

The confusion is they tend to refer to it as Multicore rendering support. People wrongly assume it refers to the graphics card due to 'rendering'. (Thats what I've read :) )

This support has been on DOD and TF2 for some time now.

So with my previous HDD breaking a few weeks ago, I was left without my beloved user .cfg.
Alas, I've made a new one and incorporated these settings into it. After playing about with it and shooting folk , I quite like it. If anyone else were to want it then feel free to give me a shout and I'll get it to you one way or another.
What does the cfg do?
Well I have it to basically bind a whole load of keys. Like my keypad is bound to buying different weapons and gear. Got the gore up to maximum so you can see when you've hit someone properly and also just piddled around with mouse settings etc etc.
Again, tell me if you want it and it's done.
