Whats your HS?

No, not HeadShot... Heatsink ( + FAN )
Seems to me a lot of people tend to talk more about there cpu, than what HS and Fan they get.
I recently got 2 of these for 2 of my work rigs here at home and there absolutely excellent, extremely silent. A little big tho, ( so check if you wanna get one ) but thats fine by me, what you pay for for silence you pay for in size when it comes to cooling IMHO... But out of all the HS's ive ever had with a fan, this is the best one. Comes with a controller too, so you can wack it up if you want to. Down side for me is the silly green led on it, which you cant get rid of, but no biggy. I can only hear my HD when im caining it. There might be better ones, but what the hey.
CNPS9500-AM2
Ive also got one of these, which ive had for about 3 years, it isnt too bad either. No whirring what so ever.
AC Freezer Pro
Not really looking for spec comparisons, just wondered what others have fitted?

I'm running on Stock cooling atm, keeps my processor in the low 20's idle and never above 35.
If I were to upgrade, i'd be looking at that Zalman or the Nexus FLC-3000. (

Just out of interest, does anyone use Water Cooling and if so how effective/cost efficient/easy to set up is it?

Ive never water cooled , but some friends of mine did, when it first came out. Leaks were the biggest problem and the extra space needed for the tanks etc. Its probably come a long way since tho... I just wonder how quiet the pumps are?
I did look at those Nexus FLC-3000, but they were just a tad more expensive than the CNPS9500. ( £35 delivered )

I use the artic coooling freezer 7 pro as well. Big but keeps my Quad processor (q6600 Go) at a cool 35 degrees when clocked from stock 2.4ghz to 3.6ghz. (I do have 6 other internal case fans though)
other case fans

* 4 90mm

* 1 120mm

Exib, how quiet is your CPU heatsink fan if you were to turn off the case fans? Looks like a nice one.

i used to use the zalman 9700's in all previous PC's but after doing some reading i hear that the noctura's are slightly better, tests showed by about 2-3 degrees. its a monster though!

Stock cooling, running at high 40's in an enclosed space..... my GPU is about the same, all stock settings. thinking of investing in some serious cooling systems and overclocking though.

Mate, Id say keep the 2-3 degrees... cos that thing just looks plain ugly... lol

But I know what you mean.

Personally, I mainly go solely for silence... Performance of the heatsink can be massively assisted by using a decent case in the first place, with a flow from one end going out to the other. Thats the first one ive seen that needs 2 fans on it, so I suppose thats why it might perform better.
McClane, If you do decide to get some new heatsinks ( or anything for that matter) I got my CNPS9500 Zalmans from
http://www.cclonline.com if your interested. They were the cheapest I could find online and I was amazed at the postage, which was practically nothing ( £2.30 ) for next day royal mail delivery.
Check em out if your after anything.

Got one of these a few weeks ago
http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/spec ... COO-DOMINO.
Fairly cheap pre assembled water cooling. Temperature dropped a bit but HSF I had before was already decent
http://www.coolermaster.com/products/pr ... il&id=4509- I've now fitted it to a spare PC. I was able to push my OC a bit higher but not by much - was already running it close to the limit at 2.4 oced to 3.4Ghz.

IXL, yeah its not the most attractive HS but it is quieter also and a hell of a lot easier to fit than the zalmans.
dont get me wrong i love the look of the zalmans but wanted to try something new and this has prooved to be pretty good so far.
anyway i was thinking about doing this next
but then i thought nah ill just get one of these
or if i mad enough maybe use n20
