Proper Wireless - From Your Laptop to a Big Dish In The Sky!

Has anyone played any games on a laptop online using a USB dongle from Vodafone or 3 (Proper mobile internet...). If so, is it reliable or not worth the plastic it's made of when it comes to games?
A screwdriver and a computer engineer is a very bad combination!

My wifes go the 3 dongle and its no good for gaming keeps dropping out if you move dongle and the ping is usually through the roof.
