There seems to be all sorts of confusion over this . Originally the steam website said securom 5 limit activation , but its been changed now ( 5 times I believe) .2k say "We are using SecuROM only as a disc check method for the retail copy of BioShock 2. That is it's only use." yet it is still listed in steam requirements .If its only as a disc check why do steam customers need it?. I know plenty of people have used games with securom with absolutely no problems , but a lot of people have had serious problems with it . I know Schlack had huge problems with it before .I was willing to pay for the game but this has made me think twice , I'll just have to get a copy without securom.

Aye, I fully understand you not wanting anything with it on it is a pain in the arse. I don't understand why games publishers have failed to realise it doesn't stop piracy it just pisses off genuine customers. Anyway here's hoping it turns out the steam version doesn't have it

I've never had any issues with securom myself - unless it interferes with apps like daemon tools (I got round that by having daemon tools on a virtual machine with the virtual drive shared to the main desktop).

I beleive the original Bioshock had securom and an activation limit although I never had problems with it. One reason why I like to get games on Steam instead of retail is that steam seems to handle all that DRM stuff quite well. You sign in, the game is there waiting for you and just runs for me without issues.

I hate that DRM restricts legit users, but I'm willing to tolerate it for this game.

Completed the single player the other day. Decent game with some nice improvements over the first one even if the story isn't quite as good.

On hard level it's quite tough going until you unlock some of the more powerful plasmids - after which I found it a peice of piss with the exception of taking down the big sisters. They take a hell of a lot of effort to kill compare to the big daddies and they move so damn fast too.

Anyone want to try the multiplayer? Let me know!

I was a little underwhelmed by it to start with but by the end I think I enjoyed it more than the first. The last few levels were awesome. I thought the story was more engaging as you had a clear goal throughout and wasn't just blindly following instructions (even if that was the point) but it had no big moments like the golfing incident.

Good game well worth a play
