I'm AFK for a couple of days - 5870 graphics card is playing up (bcc 0x116 blue screens with ATI driver) and Catalyst crash mid re-install left Windows in a totally shagged state without rollback. So I'm re-installing Windows starting with an empty boot drive (at least the BF3 re-install is done - 32GB download???). Good news is the PC only crashes (with a graphics card error) when I'm *not* in-game (wierd) - it's actually been doing it for a month, and I've managed to get back to the same state (works in game, crashes in the desktop) after a completely clean re-install of PC bios, Windows, ATI driver 12.3, and BF3 (and nothing else). I'm fairly sure the card is faulty when running desktop on 3 screens - something to do with Eyefinity.
I think Ion said he's getting a Nvidia 680... maybe I'll see how that goes.
