crappy that's microsoft saying "call the manufacturer don't call us" but it doesn't mean the manufacturer would be able to help.
There are at least a couple of indicators that Nems memory is possibly giving errors, i.e. the bluescreen stop code and the fact that Nem yanked out the 2GB he bought with the PC and installed his own 4GB.
I'ev recommend he run memtest86 overnight
http://www.memtest.org/
Nem needs to be able to either burn the ISO cd-rom and boot from that, or use the 'usb key' install and boot from that.
If Nem can't run the memtest86, then possibly he could re-install the original 2GB and see if that bluescreens. I have no idea if BF3 will run in 2GB tho

Re: Blue screen
go for it Nem - all those budget ram sticks are great value for money, and you'll be in great shape with 8GB. Plus if your PC plays up you'll have two 4GB sticks to test with instead of one. I saw on the interweb the ram you suggest has a 10-year manufacturer warranty and I'm sure Gav's finds are just as good.
In terms of performance, to keep things simple, the main factor is the FIRST number of the 9-9-10-11-24 type sequence. Budget ram tends to start with a '9', more expensive stuff will have an '8', BUT in a benchmark that makes fuck-all difference (except in MEMORY benchmarks ...). But having 8GB instead of 4GB will make a noticeable difference e.g. task switching from BF3 - TS - Battlelog.
