Counter Strike Source Mic Problems
The brother in law has started playing css again (wesbot) he's playing on an Apple Mac and is having some mic problems. At the moment I can hear him but its slightly blurry and fades out at the end . Someone here had the same problem with their mic a while ago but I can't remember who? .Any idea's or solutions ?

Yeah - the volume of Slartys voice plays up every time alcohol is applied!

Re: Counter Strike Source Mic Problems
does the mac have a mic in? it might be a line in which probably requires external power.
Re: Counter Strike Source Mic Problems
I'm with smeg on this one. To use an external mic the Bro-in-Law is probably going to need a mic-to-usb adapter such as the Griffin iMic (~$30). Maybe the Mac has a built-in mic and he can wear headphones instead of a headset.

I think it might be a simpler explanation. The mic he's using is a built in one so the static and fading away could be caused by head movement and external noises.
