I will try it, but it would have to be really special to beat Opera 10! Built in spell checker and lots of other great features. No more spelling mistakes when typing in the forum etc, and speed to boot. The other major plus point for Opera is security! It wins a lot of praise over its rivals in this area.
Only thing I don't like about chrome and other google apps/tools are the services they run in the background that you just cant disable. If you do try and disable them they re-install/re-enable them self.

My browser tag says it all - "Opera/9.80 (X11; Linux x86_64; U; en-GB) Presto/2.2.15 Version/10.00"
However Chrome on Linux is also promising, lightning fast rendering but obviously lacks features.

After all.. my PERSONAL computer should stay personal.
enlighten us then..
how does chrome defile all our personal data to the evil people on the interwebs and steal our credit card details and what illegal scat porn sites we have been on to the authorities..
please do tell, as ive been using it for a while now to purchase items and do a lot of internet banking.
also i just found out Chrome has a
Built in spell checker
, didn't realise till just the other day.. yes I am that good as spelling lol
since browsers dont cache any data sent via HTTPS then i have no quams using chrome for secure transactions. Better than waiting ten years for things to happen(IE/FF).
Its alot more secure than you think tbh. Never had any spyware come down or anything like that. I install various spyware on a regular basis to check. Nothing.
Think this is what Bullet is on about, but I will say the speed and ease of use crome is a great app. But it runs update checker as a service that cant be disabled (2.x not tried 3.x) and I hate things like that.
Also chrome runs a new instance for each tab ie 5meg per tab, this how it keeps its speed up. Now I know its just me being picky
All in all a great fast browser but somethings seem a little evil. Remember if its free there is always a catch.
I think it's very on topic tbh mate.. saying that a web browser is doing dodgy shit with my personal info is kinda relevant in this thread and I would like to know what it is that the browser is doing... a genuine interest.

5meg a tab now days is nothing... specially since you get the massive speed increase tab:tab compared to ie. And it renders better

I know mate, I also know how things can get out of hand very quickly with these things
Remember guys, this isn't a "Mine is better than yours" session, or a display for misplaced loyalty. Keep it factual, and we can all learn about other browsers, and choose our own favourite from the benefits. Speed is is certainly a good thing, but you should never pick a browser solely for that reason. It has to have deeper benefits over the competition. When we talk about speed of browsers, we are often talking about differences that are so small, that they are hard to comprehend. We will all pick our browsers for different reasons, and amen to that.
