downloading the maps from fps banana

if i download a map from fps and it a rar. file. Do i just have to put it into my cstrike/maps folder to play it? Or how does this work? same with the zip file?

Download WinRAR (http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm) and its exactly the same as a .zip
Extract the .bsp, .nav, .res, .txt and whatever else is required into cstrike/maps

Re: downloading the maps from fps banana

no,
and now im having a prob with the Crypt map. Whenever i join s1 that map keeps downloading and the error says 'Couldnt CRC map maps/De_Crpt_CN_V1.bsp,disconnect

Re: downloading the maps from fps banana

Have you got the map in a folder within your map directory? The actual file (De_Crpt_CN_V1.bsp) must sit in there. In the root of maps. Is your map the same version?
