Whenver I try and play anything in WMP, it crashies, and is rather annoying. I can play files in Moviemaker fine, but either WMP or the interweb version that pops up both crash. I've got the latest version installed I expect, and it worked fine a week ago, no real changes to my pc since then.
Any ideas my good amigos?

Media Player Crashing!?
Do you know what the chain of command is? It's the chain I beat you with until you remember I'm in charge.

Re: Media Player Crashing!?
Which WMP version?
Might want to upgrade to Version 11 or 12or even reinstall of you're already up-to-date.

K-Lite codec pack + mediaplayer Home cinema (both free and gets a thumbs up from me for watching all your online TV etc etc).
Gotta remember WMV AVI etc etc are just file standards but can be compressed in diffrent formats due to codecs, WMM has build in codecs and decoders while MP relies on externial ones.

uninstall klite codecs, dont trust codec packs at all. just download the single codecs you require. i watch a lot of stuff and the only ones ive ever needed are xvid, ac3 and sometimes mpeg4 but thats for media player.
tbh id do what jazzy said, use vlc for all ya video needs. i dont think ive ever had a problem with vlc, plays everything ive ever wanted to watch. i just use wmp for music.
