First night with my new HD4870 oc edition graphics card and god is it big.
Using drivers shipped with card, (Never optimised) I have got 16032 on 3DMark 06.
System
Q6600 quad cpu @ 3ghz
Palit Radeon HD4870 DDR5 sonic @ 4000mhz memory and 775 clock
F1 spinpoint 750gb hard drive
Maxtor Diamond Max 10 200gb Hard drive
Artic freezer pro 7 cooler
Asus P5K-E wifi edition mobo
2gigs memory 6400 Geil 4-4-4-12
Oh - I feel another overclock on CPU and graphics when I get new drivers in tomorrow. Ah - I'll postpone that till after 'Friday night is gaming night!' is over just incase lol

Right, just had a look at futuremark website. the latest 3d mark is called "Vantage" i think.
can get it here http://www.futuremark.com/benchmarks/3d ... /download/
my result for 3D Mark 2006 is: wont run on vista 64 bit
for Vantage:13030
problem is vantage doesnt run on xp as its build for DX10 so bit of a bummer when it comes to compare. guess i can only ocmnpare with other vista os's

Vista
Microsofts lowest point to date. Spy ware?? Needent worry with specialised software, your whole damn machine is doing all the spying already....
XP has many faults, but best of the rest for now unless you take the plunge into Linux.
Smifster, just google results on similar systems, to see if you are achieving what you should with your platform and Vantage.
