Ping / Route tracer

Guys,

Here is a piece of kit that will show you the route to any server you want to see where you might be getting any choke / lag or ping issues.

When you click on the link you will see a box in the top right of the header banner that says download pingplotter. Click on that and it will d/l to your PC as freeware.

After you install it and run it all you need to do is put the server IP address in and it will trace your route and show you the necessary performance figures.

Remember that not all lag issues are the making of the server - you could have an issue with one of the nodes en route to the server.

What he forgot to mention is how to fix it -- With DSL or dialup you can disconnect and reconnect. You should then get a different, randomly allocated route to your ISP.

With DSL routers you may have to pull the wire out the back to desync it first, the "disconnect" button usually just logs you out.
